Political consultant and former Special Adviser to the UK Government, Emily Poole, has today been appointed to the Chasing the Stigma advisory board.
With a background in UK politics, as well as extensive communications experience, Emily has advised some of the world’s biggest companies, charities and NGOs on political engagement strategies.
Emily’s role will see her advise Chasing the Stigma’s board of Trustees and CEO on any potential political engagement.
Chasing the Stigma Chair, Chris Clarke, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Emily to our advisory board. Her wealth of knowledge, passion and experience is going to be hugely beneficial to Chasing the Stigma.
“Emily has already shown her commitment to the charity by dedicating time to help to further enhance the impact of our work. We are all incredibly grateful for her time and excited by what these opportunities may help us to achieve in the future.”
Speaking on her appointment, Emily said:
“Closing the gap between improving attitudes towards mental health and better access to services is the public health challenge of our generation.
“Chasing the Stigma is doing amazing work to break down the barriers that prevent people from seeking help and locating the right services when they do, and so I am extremely proud to be joining the advisory board today.
“I look forward to supporting the charity as it continues to improve the lives of the one in four people who experience a mental health problem each year.”
